MOL has aggressively marketed a continually expanding range of new projects, building on its experience as the world's largest operator of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and its strong relationships with customers around the world. More countries will become importers of the LNG we carry, creating new opportunities in the United States, Europe, India, South Korea, and Taiwan, as well as in Japan. In coming years, we will launch a succession of new carriers to solidify our No. 1 position in this field.

LNG Japan was established in 2001 as strategic alliance between Sumitomo Corp. and Sojitz Corp (ex-Nissho Iwai). LNG Japan as former Nissho Iwai started business in LNG from 1969. Ever since, LNG Japan has accumulated every aspect of LNG PJ including PJ development (Upstream/Downstream), contract implementation, ship/shore interface, transportation, intelligence service and LNG trading etc. LNG Japan is aiming at becoming a global LNG player in the real term of the word through expansion of our activities not only in Pacific market but also in Atlantic market.
